Hailing from Gadigal Land, Sydney-based Social Strangers are a four-piece alternative rock band blending grunge, punk, emo, post-grunge and nu-metal into a sound that is as heavy as it is emotionally charged.

The band consists of Rachel (vocals), Adrian (guitar), Will (bass) and Hamish (drums). Fronted by a powerful female vocalist and driven by crushing guitar riffs, hard-hitting bass and explosive drums, Social Strangers create music that moves between atmospheric vulnerability and unapologetic heaviness.

Their songs explore isolation, identity, relationships and the search for genuine human connection, music for people who have ever felt like they don't quite belong.

Social Strangers have built a reputation as an energetic and engaging live act, performing across Sydney at venues and major events including the Fig Grove Stage during State of Origin and Foo Fighters events, as well as the Music Box Stage for Billie Eilish's final Sydney show. The band have also consistently drawn strong crowds to their headline and support shows, establishing themselves as a formidable live presence within Sydney's alternative music scene.

In 2026, Social Strangers took their music internationally with their first Japanese tour, performing across Tokyo, Kobe, Osaka and Kyoto. Following the success of the tour, the band are now working towards returning to Japan in February 2027, continuing to build relationships and expand their audience internationally.

2026 marks a major new chapter for Social Strangers. Following the release of their darker EP Disconnection, the band are set to release its companion Reconnection later this year, exploring the other side of isolation through themes of healing, reflection and finding your way back to yourself and others.

Alongside the EP, Social Strangers are also preparing to release a new album before the end of 2026, expanding on the band's heavier sound and setting the foundation for what comes next. With new music, a growing international presence and a reputation for delivering powerful live performances, Social Strangers are entering their next era with more momentum than ever.
